10 million comic books distributed free of charge to schools in Brazil

On June 21, at the President's Palace in Brasília, Mauricio de Sousa, along with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Brazilian Secretariat Against Drugs launched "Monica's Gang and Ronaldinho Gaucho - Say Yes to Life. The campaign, developed in affiliation with de Sousa's Cultural Institute, is designed to prevent drug use.

The campaign, unique to Mauricio de Sousa's vision and goals for the Institute, was idealized and created to celebrate life, leisure, entertainment, amusement, healthy connection with friends and family and the interchange between school and teachers as a means to keep children from the risks of using drugs.

Aware that the characters of Monica's Gang and Ronaldinho Gaucho have a strong influence on millions of readers all over the country, cartoonist Mauricio de Sousa said: "With this campaign we are able to bring value, teachings, guidance and awareness to the readers, adults and children alike.

With good humor and a friendly manner, "Monica's Gang and Ronaldinho Gaucho - Say Yes to Life - in the Campaign Against the Use of Drugs," brings information to children on this controversial topic, a significant step toward facing and solving the problem.
