His pen touched the blank paper in front of him; all eyes were on him as the pen moved with grace and accuracy. Mauricio de Sousa was inside a room made of glass so that all could see him from any angle as he drew the cover of one of his upcoming comics.
This took place at the 20th International Book Fair in Sao Paulo, the largest editorial event of Brazil and the second largest of the world , between August 14 and 24.
Mauricio launched Monica’s Gang Teen comic book#1, gave press interviews, conferences, and signed hundreds of books for his fans. Two of which were lucky to receive, by chance of lottery, the original drawings created in the "aquarium" at the Panini stand.
Mauricio was the only author at the event who had books launched by five different publishers: Panini, Melhoramentos, Girassol, Ave Maria, and Companhia Editora Nacional - Ibep.
